MSG Linked To Obesity

In a number of recent studies MSG was not only linked to adverse side effects such as headaches and muscular pain but to obesity.  The unhealthy effects of monosodium glutamate (MSG) on the human body are becoming more evident as more studies are conducted.   The latest studies, connecting MSG intake to obesity, is only the latest indicator that MSG should be avoided.  It is extremely difficult to avoid eating MSG as it is in so many of our foods, and often not labeled.  Even the phrase “No MSG Added” can be misleading, as the ingredients (prepackaged sauces) often contain MSG.  So, if a sauce which contains MSG is an ingredient and MSG is not added afterwards the product label can say “No MSG Added” when it, in fact, does contain MSG.  Here is a link to a recent article discussing the link between MSG and obesity:
